A former Crossler Middle School student wanted Trycia Smith, Crossler Middle School teacher, to know she was misssed. Smith’s positive teaching style and constant encouragment impacts students. Smith was presented the community nominated “GOODIE Two Shoes” award Thursday October 4th in front of her classroom full of students.
Crossler Middle School Principal, Kristine Walton, had these kind words to say about Trycia Smith:
Trycia Smith is a teacher, mentor and cheearleader! She currently teaches AVID and 8th grade social studies. Trycia pours her heart and soul into her students and often goes the extra mile for them. In AVID she teaches students responsibility, organization, study skills, literacy skills, and how to plan for the future. She raises money for the AVID program by helping to run the student store. Trycia also co-leads the National Junior Honor Society which promotes scholarship and citizenship. She is on the district team planning the implementation of the new social studies standards. Outside of school, Trycia leads a yearly trip for middle school students to Washington D.C. to help make history come alive for them. In past years, she has served as Activities Director.
Trycia Smith is an extremely valuable member of the Crossler Community and we are proud of the recognition she has received!
