Kids and their parents can have fun together while developing the social skills needed to build successful relationships.
That’s the goal behind Family Building Blocks’ Family Nights, events during which families share nutritious meals served by FBB board members and Umpqua Bank employees.
After dinner, families participate in fun, child-focused activities. Parents mingle while their children play in a positive, healthy setting at each of the four Family Nights FBB hosts each year. All families participating in FBB’s early childhood programs are invited to attend.
Umpqua Bank not only serves dinners, but has generously sponsored FBB’s Carousel Family Night for the past two years.
The bank also encourages its employees to volunteer in other capacities. Several employees volunteer on FBB’s Auxiliary, which supports the organization’s work with fundraising, granting scholarships for FBB families, and supporting the work of the staff. Others volunteer in FBB classrooms and on Special Events teams, hosting resource tables at community events to share about FBB’s work, or simply making play dough for use at home visits or community play groups.
