Proud GOODIE Partner
For a winning performance, Hart Keene blends community with a little bit of magic.
Keene started dabbling in magic at age 15 after his high school Spanish teacher showed him a card trick.
Keene calls his performances “all organic, interactive magic,” a lot of sleight of hand and no big contraptions. His performances mix magic, illusions, comedy and “some special things for the kids.”
“A little animal comes to life and the kids will love it,” he said. “In a couple of spooky bits, you’ll hear a little scream here and there.”
At his upcoming performance, Keene will perform his famous “needle” act that he performed on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” show in 2010.
“I swallow a needle, swallow thread, and finally pull both through my mouth,” he said. “It’s freaky and perfect for the spooky day coming up.”
Everything Keene does is an illusion – except for the funds he raises for a selected charity at every performance. This Sunday’s recipient is Marion-Polk Food Share. The show starts at 6 p.m. at the Reed Opera House. Tickets are $12.50 to $17.50 and are available at https://clcsalem.ticketbud.com/hartkeene.
“It’s for a great cause,” Keene said. “People will have fun, and there is something for everyone. We’ll have a good time!”
We believe you, Hart Keene. You do GOOD!
